Oh my! where has time gone?!?! with the holidays over january flew by and now its almost valentines! I haven’t been very good about blogging recently, but I’ve been super busy with bridal fairs, albums and meeting up with my 2012 couples! There are so many wonderful and exciting things on the horizon and I couldn’t be more happy! In the spirit of catching up, I have gotten a chance to blog Rachel and Ross’s beautiful autumn wedding held up at the Tannenbaum on Mt. Rose. It was a beautiful day and Rachel and Ross had the most sweet and romantic ceremony overlooking the valley, surrounded by their closest family and friends. I loved Rachel’s bouquet and her wildflower themed center pieces, the fall colors were stunning and we had a chance to go up Mt Rose to finish up their portraits in the aspen stands. Rachel and Ross- thank you so much for allowing met to be part of your day!

I adore the fall- and I SUPER adore fall engagement sessions…the colors, the crisp air, the sweetness of my couples in love…ah yes, deffinately one of my most favorite times of the year. Jessica + Ben {Rock the Dress Session North Lake Tahoe|}

I have had several of my couples this year do a “rock the dress session”, and I am loving it. I am a huge fan of Rock the Dress Sessions for many reasons:

1. You get to wear your dress again.

2. You get to relax and get some amazing pictures of you and your hubby with out the pressure of having to get to the reception, and its a TON of fun.

3. You get to wear your dress again.

4. You will find that its a time to just have fun and take advantage of doing some pictures that you *may* have not been brave enough to do on the day of the wedding day (i.e. standing in a soggy meadow or in Lake Tahoe)

5. You get to wear your dress again.

With out further ado- Jessica and Ben’s “Rock the Dress Session”- I was thrilled with the weather we had for the day, the clouds danced in and out of the trees and the rain had just stopped so all the colors were beautifully saturated (I’m not going to lie- I felt like I was photographing in heaven!) The light was gorgeous and I was getting to hang out with an amazing couple. Enjoy!

Samantha + Marq {Rancho San Rafael Garden Wedding}

Samantha and Marq were married on the most beautiful of September afternoons. It was a beautiful day, and even though it poured buckets of rain just before the ceremony, everything came together perfectly for their sweet romantic garden wedding, held at Rancho San Rafael Park. Samantha is incredibly talented and very creative, all of the centerpieces and the super cool idea of getting to draw on the table cloths are all hers. She even made the little heart bunting that went over the fireplace and shopped for months for all the different bottles that made up the pieces on the tables. I adored her dress, which she found at Swoon Bridal Boutique here in Reno, and both Samantha and Marq loved the movie “UP” by Disney/pixar and made a mailbox similar to the one in the film for guests to put cards in. Her incredibly cool and retro floral were done by a family friend and they had GourMelt Food Truck come cater after the ceremony, (seriously, the best grilled cheese I have EVER had); and guys- if you are loving Marq’s boutineer, that was also a DIY project, the groomsmen wore storm troopers and Marq had darth vader. Also the cake topper was handmade by Samantha as well. If I could be half as good at DIY projects I could possibly be kinda cool. Samantha and Marq are so in love with each other it was a joy to be able to capture their day. Thank you so much to you both for being so caring and loving, and for once again making me realize I have the best job in the world. Much Love to you both!!!

Jessica + Ben {Tahoe City Wedding}

When I first met with Jessica and Ben I knew immediately they were my kind of people- warm, kind open and make you feel like you’ve known them their entire lives best friend kinda people. I was honored and humbled to be part of their amazing day up at Tahoe City at the fabulous Grannlibakken Resort. It was the most beautiful day, full of love and happiness. One of the sweetest moments was at the end of the ceremony, when Jessica’s dad stood up and applauded the newly married couple, I about lost it right then. During the reception Ben’s family went and brought in the traditional bells that would be rung in the villages of Switzerland when a couple gets married, it was the most magical sound! Then just to top it all off Ben’s brother played the accordion for some traditional songs and got the party started on the dance floor. Thank you both for sharing such an amazing day with me! Cristina and Juan {Truckee Wedding}

I am so excited to share Cristina and Juan’s wedding with you this morning! It truly was a spectacular day filled with fun and laughter and most importantly- love. There are quite a few images below, but I just couldn’t help myself, the day was so beautiful and there were so many memorable moments.

Cristina and Juan were married in Truckee CA, at the Assumption Church of the Blessed Mary , and is an absolutely beautiful gorgeous church, the light in the church was just breathtaking. The reception was held at the fabulous Tahoe Biltmore, right on the state line between Nevada and California. I loved their centerpieces, all lovingly done by Cristina and Juan’s family- as were the bridesmaids dresses, the flower girl baskets and all the other little details throughout the day- a super talented family for sure!

During the day I loved how Juan couldn’t stop looking at his beautiful bride, and how Cristina would always be right there next to her groom the whole day. I almost lost it when Cristina surprised Juan with a “2nd first dance” with a special song just for him, and I couldn’t stop smiling the whole night as I watched them celebrate surrounded by their friends and family.

Cristina and Juan, thank you so much for letting me be part of you day! It truly was an honor! Much love to you both!

Kimberly + Cason {Tahoe Meadows / Sand Harbor Engagement and Family Photographer}

I am so honored to be shooting Kimberly and Cason’s wedding this coming November at The Grove here in South Reno. I can not wait! I love summer weddings, but I adore the fall season and I am thrilled to have a wedding this year in November! For their engagement session it was important to Kimberly and Cason to capture the outdoors and the feeling of summer fun that they love so much with their daughter, and to relax at Tahoe too. We put together a little family/engagement session at the meadows on Mt. Rose and then at Sand Harbor Lake Tahoe just as the sun was setting. So perfect, so romantic and fun- just like Kimberly and Cason. These two truly complete each other, Cason was stealing glances at Kimberly the whole time, and Kimberly glowed with love for Cason. Thank you two so much, for everything! Can’t wait for November! Much love!

Rachel + Ross {Galena Forest Engagement Session}

I was thrilled when Rachel and Ross contacted me for their October wedding up at the Tannenbaum on Mount Rose. Its going to be such a beautiful day, full of laughter and love! I just love getting to do engagement sessions with my couples. Its such a fun time and it gives us a chance to get to know each other! Rachel and Ross are head over heels for each other, and I know that their wedding is going to be super fun, and any girl that will rock it out in turquoise cowgirl boots on her engagement session gets 10+ bonus points in my book!
